METRO Park & Ride and Local Bus Service Adjusted to Match Rider Demand

More convenient service is on the way as METRO makes adjustments to increase reliability on various local bus and Park & Ride routes.

Effective Sunday, June 5, the 29 Cullen / Hirsch route will end at the Kashmere Transit Center, and the 36 Kempwood will be extended between the Northline and Kashmere Transit Centers. The 36 Kempwood will increase its frequency to every 20 minutes.

The following local bus routes will also undergo changes to improve service:

  • 3 Langley / Little York - Route extended to Hollister / Little York
  • 5 Southmore
  • 30 Clinton / Ella
  • 47 Hillcroft
  • 50 Broadway
  • 85 Antoine / Washington
  • 102 Bush IAH Express
  • 108 Veterans Memorial Express
  • 151 Westpark Express
  • 153 Harwin Express

Effective Monday, June 6, METRO will adjust Park & Ride service to match rider demand on the following routes:

  • 217 Cypress
  • 222 Grand Parkway
  • 228 Addicks / 221 Kingsland

Also effective Monday, June 6, the 170 Missouri City Express and 171 Fort Bend Town Center Express routes will be renumbered. The 170 Missouri City Express service will become the 270 Missouri City Park & Ride. The 171 Fort Bend Town Center Express will become the 271 Fort Bend Town Center Park & Ride. While these routes will have a new number, there will be no changes to fare, route or schedule.
