New Year, New Career with METRO
Big-money incentives, paid training, and career growth are just a few of the benefits when you join METRO's team. Experienced mechanics can receive up to $8,000, and bus operators can earn up to $4,000 in incentive pay to come onboard as new hires. And there are numerous other career opportunities at WorkforMETRO.org.

METRO will train and pay new bus or rail operator trainees. They have access to free commercial driver's license (CDL) training or renewal. New mechanics also have free A.S.E. certification training, and METRO will also cover the cost of exams.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, clean, reliable, accessible and friendly transportation services. METRO’s transit network includes local bus, METRORail, which includes the Red Line (Main Street and Northline), the Green Line (East End) and the Purple Line (Southeast), Park & Ride commuter buses, METROLift paratransit service, HOV/HOT Express Lanes, Community Connector shuttle service and METRO Star Vanpool.
