 On Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, a series of METRO route and schedule modifications will take effect on various METRO local bus, Park & Ride, METRORail and METRORapid routes. Most changes focus on improving customers’ experience to better accomodate students returning to in-person classes.
METRO's newest service, the Gulfton Circulator, will also debut in southwest Houston. Customers will find convenient transportation options to popular neighborhood destinations and direct connections to additional transit routes and facilities like the METRORapid Silver Line and the Westpark/Lower Uptown Transit Center.
A new RideStore is also now open at METRO's Northwest Transit Center. METRO customers will be able to purchase fare items, obtain route and schedule information and access a host of other services at the full-service facility.

Passenger safety remains a priority. Frequent cleaning and sanitation will continue at METRO facilities and on all METRO vehicles, and the Authority continues to provide hand sanitizing stations. Customers are encouraged to purchase contactless fares and plan their trips using the RideMETRO app. METRO continues to abide by the federal mask requirement for anyone riding the system or entering any METRO facility as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration.
