METRO provided vital connections to warming shelters and essential medical care for some of the region's most vulnerable residents as temperatures plummeted last week.
In partnership with the Harris County Office of Emergency Management, the city of Houston, and other community organizations, METRO responded to emergency requests and transported more than 200 people to various warming shelters. METROLift provided more than 2,000 rides to customers needing medically essential, life-sustaining services during the freeze. METROLift is now delivering food and water to seniors and people with disabilities in partnership with Houston officials and others.
METRO’s hard work is being noticed throughout the community as you will see in this video.
