Community Expresses Gratitude for Frontline Workers
METRO continues to echo public health officials' recommendations to avoid close contact with people by maintaining a social distance of at least six feet, which is about the equivalent of two arms' length.
METRO has continued to expand its public service efforts to encourage customers to keep their distance not only aboard buses and trains, but also, while boarding buses and waiting for trains on rail platforms. The Authority reminds patrons:
- On local buses, those without mobility issues should board and exit through the rear door
- On buses and trains, avoid seats marked "unavailable"
- If a local bus has reached 50 percent capacity, please wait for the next bus

MPD Recognized During National Police Week
Law enforcement agencies across the country are observing the 58th annual National Police Week. May 15 is also recognized as National Peace Officers Memorial Day. Because of COVID-19, public gatherings were not held this year to mark the occasion. But the crisis did not deter anyone from paying tribute to those who protect and serve, and honoring the fallen.
