The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses on METRO’s network, METRORail's system includes the Red Line (Main Street and Northline), Green Line (East End) and Purple Line (Southeast). In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, METRO will operate the following schedule:

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 21, 2018

Local bus routes will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
METRORail service will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
Park & Ride routes will operate additional trips from downtown as follows:

Service every 15 minutes:

  • 209 Kuykendahl/Spring (12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.)
  • 219 West Little York/Northwest Station/Cypress (12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.) 
  • 229 Addicks/Kingsland/Grand Parkway (12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.)
  • 249 Monroe/Fuqua/Bay Area (noon to 3 p.m.)
  • 259 Eastex/Townsen/Kingwood (12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.)
  • 269 Hillcroft/Westwood/ West Bellfort (noon to 3 p.m.)

Service every 30 minutes:

  • 236 Maxey Road/Baytown (noon to 3 p.m.)

Park & Ride routes NOT listed above will operate regular afternoon service starting at 3 p.m. Please check your route’s schedule for correct times.

THURSDAY, NOV. 22 (THANKSGIVING DAY)

  • Local bus routes will operate on a Sunday schedule.
  • METRORail service will operate on a Sunday schedule.
  • Park & Ride routes WILL NOT operate on this day.

FRIDAY, NOV. 23

  • Local bus service will operate on a Sunday schedule.
  • METRORail service will operate on a Saturday schedule.
  • Park & Ride routes WILL NOT operate on this day.

SATURDAY, NOV. 24 and SUNDAY, NOV. 25

  • Local bus service will operate on regular Saturday and Sunday schedules.
  • METRORail service will operate on regular Saturday and Sunday schedules.
  • Park & Ride routes WILL NOT operate on these days.

METROLIFT HOLIDAY HOURS

METROLift’s Reservations and Customer Service offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23. As a result, all Thursday and Friday subscription trips are cancelled.

On Wednesday, Nov. 21, customers should call Reservations at 713-225-6716 to schedule trips for the days listed:

  • Thursday, Nov. 22
  • Friday, Nov. 23
  • Saturday, Nov. 24
  • Sunday, Nov. 25
  • Monday, Nov. 26

We are extending our Reservations hours until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, to give customers additional time to schedule trips on the days listed above.

You may also schedule a trip from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. the day before you need to travel by using MACS at 713-739-4690 or MACS-WEB  or MACS-WEB screen reader version.

  • Wednesday, Nov. 21: 6 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 22: CLOSED
  • Friday, Nov. 23: 6 a.m. - 8 p.m.

RIDE STORE AND LOST & FOUND HOURS

Holiday hours are as follows:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 21: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 22: (Thanksgiving Day) CLOSED
  • Friday, Nov. 23: CLOSED
  • Saturday, Nov. 24: CLOSED
  • Sunday, Nov. 25: CLOSED
