The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses on METRO’s network, METRORail's system includes the Red Line (Main Street and Northline), Green Line (East End) and Purple Line (Southeast). METRO Labor Day Schedule

METRO will operate the following schedule on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, 2018:

  • METRO buses will run on a Sunday schedule of service (see schedules for each local route)
  • METRORail will run on a Sunday schedule of service. (see schedules for RedGreen and Purple lines.)
  • There will be no Park & Ride service.
  • All HOV/HOT lanes along IH-45 S, IH-45 N, I-69 N Eastex, I-69 Southwest, and US 290 will be closed.
  • All METRO RideStores and Lost & Found will be closed.
  • METRO’s Customer Care Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and can be contacted at 713-635-4000 or 713-635-6993 (TDD).

Reservations for METROLift:

  • METROLift Reservations and METROLift Customer Service offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 3, 2018. 
  • Monday subscription trips will be cancelled. To schedule a trip for Monday, Sept. 3, or Tuesday, Sept 4, you must call the METROLift reservation line at 713-225-6716 on Friday, Aug. 31, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
  • Clients may also schedule a trip the day before travel by using MACS (METROLift Automated Call System) at 713-739-4690 or MACS-WEB or MACS-WEB screen reader version between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please have client ID and password ready.
