The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses on METRO’s network, METRORail's system includes the Red Line (Main Street and Northline), Green Line (East End) and Purple Line (Southeast). METRO is offering free rides to Houston area polling locations. Voters can ride at no charge on METRORail, local buses, and METROLift paratransit services.

Free transportation will be available during early voting on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Election Day, Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.mVoters should inform bus operators or fare inspectors they are going to or returning from the polls in order to receive the free rides.
