Good Food, Good Family Fun, and Great Competition at METRO Rodeo 2017 

Every year the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) puts on a competition where employees can show off their best bus driving, rail operating, customer care, and maintenance skills.  Not only do they get bragging rights, but first place winners advance to top industry competitions.  Aside from the fierce tournament, there is a BBQ Cook-off and kid kart race.

For almost 40 years, METRO’s most distinguished Operators and Mechanics have competed in the METRO Rodeo with winners advancing to the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) International Rodeo competition.  Competitors must have remarkable performance, safety and attendance records to compete.

The METRO Rodeo Family Day showcases and celebrates what our frontline employees do every day, allowing our extended families to observe the competitors and to enjoy a day of fun and festivities.
