Drowsy Driving Banner: Prevention Week November 2-8,2025

Drowsy Driving Prevention Week: Stay alert, stay alive

Every year in the U.S., drowsy driving causes about 91,000 crashes, 50,000 injuries, and nearly 800 deaths. Fatigue slows reaction time, clouds judgment, and sometimes leads to drivers falling asleep at the wheel. For workers who spend long hours on the road, the risk is even greater.

That’s why Drowsy Driving Prevention Week, November 2-8, 2025, is a reminder to put sleep first and stay alert behind the wheel.

Ways to stay safe on the road:

  • Sleep seven to eight hours before driving.
  • Pull over if you feel drowsy.
  • Skip alcohol and medicines that cause drowsiness before driving.
  • Drive with a buddy when possible.

Putting rest first protects you, your coworkers, and everyone else on the road. For more information, visit the National Sleep Foundation or download DWC’s free Driving Fatigue Prevention publication in English or Spanish.
