Build a strong safety and health program

Workplace injuries go beyond statistics. They involve real people with families and responsibilities, whose work helps drive your business. In 2023, more than 2,400 Texans suffered serious work-related injuries or death. The good news? A strong safety and health program – and these tips – can help prevent workplace accidents.

Already working to build a strong safety program? Safe + Sound Week is the perfect time to take it further. This year’s theme, Preparedness is Your Superpower, focuses on planning ahead to keep your team safe.

Updated OSHA resource: Letters of Interpretation

Did you know OSHA offers a helpful tool to answer your questions about workplace safety rules? OSHA’s Letters of Interpretation (LOIs) are official answers to real questions about how their regulations apply to specific workplaces, industries, or hazards. These letters can help you understand what OSHA expects and how to stay compliant.

OSHA has made it easier than ever to find these answers. You can now search their LOIs by keyword, standard number, or date. This means you can quickly find guidance that matches your situation. Visit the OSHA Letters of Interpretation page or learn more at dol.gov/opinion-letters.

Need more help? Free onsite safety consultation available!
DWC offers free onsite safety consultation through the Occupational Safety and Health Consultation (OSHCON) Program. We can help you comply with OSHA regulations, identify and fix hazards, and keep your workplace safe — all at no cost. Request your OSHCON consultation today.
