2023 Injury Report

DWC releases report on Texas workplace injury and illnesses

Each year, DWC compiles data on work-related injuries and illnesses that happen in Texas for the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics.

DWC releases the 2023 Rates of Texas Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses (PDF) to the public to help employers, safety professionals, and policymakers identify workplace safety and health issues.

The report shows Texas at a 1.8 injury and illness rate per 100 equivalent full-time workers. This is the lowest rate recorded for the state in the past 10 years and below the national incident rate of 2.4.
