Fire safety tips to protect your workplace

October is Fire Prevention Month, making it the perfect time to improve your workplace fire safety plans. Check out these tips to help protect yourself and your coworkers in case of a fire emergency!

National School Bus Safety Week, October 21-25, 2024

The third week in October is National School Bus Safety Week.

• Back-to-School Traffic Take 5 for Safety (English / Spanish).
• Free safety videos online (under the topics Driving Safety - Back-to-School and School Bus Safety).
• School bus safety tips from the Texas Department of Transportation.
• School bus subject matter topics from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
• Texas Department of Public Safety School Bus Transportation (School Bus Driver Certification).

Low-cost 30-hour OSHA construction classes

DWC offers both in-person training and online video training. Those who complete the course receive an OSHA 30-Hour Construction course completion card within eight weeks.

• You must be a Texas resident or an employee currently working in Texas to register.
• To attend, the student must understand and communicate in the language of the course.
• Online classes are Central Time zone.
