Workplace dangers of PFAS “forever chemicals”

Studies that link adverse health effects to PFAS, or so-called “forever chemicals,” are raising concerns for workers in industries from manufacturing to construction. These tips can help reduce worker exposure to these chemicals and prevent related injuries and illnesses.

Free OSHA 10-hour construction classes

Free OSHA 10-hour construction classes

DWC offers in-person training and online video training in English and Spanish. Those who complete the course receive an OSHA 10-hour construction course completion card within eight weeks. 

  • You must be a Texas resident or an employee currently working in Texas to register.
  • The student must understand and communicate in the language of the course.
  • All classes start at 8 a.m. and run for two days.

Texas Nonfatal Occupational Injuries and Illnesses

Each year, DWC collects and publishes data on fatal and nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses in Texas in cooperation with the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII) data reports and tables can be found at www.tdi.texas.gov/wc/safety/sis/nonfatalhomepag.html.

Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI) data reports and tables can be found at www.tdi.texas.gov/wc/safety/sis/fathomepage.html.
