Seven steps to a safer office

Seven steps to a safer office

Safety and health hazards are not limited to worksites that require heavy machinery and hard manual labor. Jobs where most tasks are completed while sitting in a chair in a climate-controlled building can also have a surprising number of hazards. These steps can help you reduce the risk of injury among your office staff.

Heat Illnesses and Injuries

OSHA continues National Emphasis Program on heat illnesses and injuries

In April 2022, OSHA launched a National Emphasis Program to protect workers from heat illness, injury, and death, which continues through April 2025.

Under this program, OSHA compliance specialists conduct indoor and outdoor heat-related workplace inspections. The enforcement efforts will be carried out in over 70 high-risk industries when the heat index is 80° F or higher.

These tips can help companies comply with OSHA requirements and regulatory guidance and prevent work-related heat incidents.
