Tips for delivery driver safety

In 2022, more than 21 billion packages flowed through U.S. shipping facilities, placing great demands and risks on delivery drivers. These tips can help those who deliver our parcels know the hazards they face and ways to keep safe as they hit the road each day.


Free OSHA 10-hour construction classes

Free OSHA 10-hour construction classes

DWC offers in-person training and online video training in both English and Spanish. Those who complete the course receive an OSHA 10-hour construction course completion card within eight weeks. 

  • You must be a Texas resident or an employee currently working in Texas to register.
  • The student must understand and communicate in the language of the course.
  • All classes start at 8 a.m. and run for two days.

El Paso | Two-day | In person | English | Mar. 5-6

Low-cost OSHA 30-hour construction classes

Low-cost OSHA 30-hour construction classes

DWC offers in-person training and online video training. Those who complete the course receive an OSHA 30-Hour Construction course completion card within eight weeks. 

  • You must be a Texas resident or an employee currently working in Texas to register. 
  • To attend, you must understand and communicate in the language of the course.
  • Online classes are Central Time Zone and both weeks are required.

2024 classes

El Paso | In person | Mar. 18-22 | 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. | Mountain time | Spanish

Austin | In person | Apr. 8-12 | 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. | Central time | English

Texas Nonfatal Occupational Injuries and Illnesses

Each year, DWC collects and publishes data on fatal and nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses in Texas in cooperation with the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII) data reports and tables can be found at www.tdi.texas.gov/wc/safety/sis/nonfatalhomepag.html.

Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI) data reports and tables can be found at www.tdi.texas.gov/wc/safety/sis/fathomepage.html.

DWC Federal Data Collection can provide more detailed Texas data by emailing a request for the SOII at injuryanalysis@tdi.texas.gov or the CFOI at CFOI@tdi.texas.gov.
