June Is National Safety Month: Hazard Recognition
Unintended injuries, commonly known as “accidents,” are the fourth leading cause of U.S. deaths. Preventing accidents by looking out for hazards ahead of time is a simple principle. In occupational safety and health, this principle is called “hazard recognition.” Join DWC in observing National Safety Month by sharing these tips on ways to recognize hazards, control their risks, and prevent injuries in the workplace.
OSHA Continues National Emphasis Program on Heat Illnesses and Injuries
In April 2022, OSHA launched a National Emphasis Program to protect workers from heat illness, injury, and death.
Under this program, OSHA compliance specialists conduct indoor and outdoor heat-related workplace inspections. The enforcement efforts will be carried out in over 70 high-risk industries when the heat index is 80° F or higher.
These tips can help companies comply with OSHA standards and prevent work-related heat incidents.
