June Is Trench Safety Month

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 115 workers lost their lives in trench-related accidents from 2015-2021. This June, during Trench Safety Month, employers involved in excavation work are encouraged to review the importance of using trench protective systems and share these tips with workers.

National Forklift Safety Day, June 13, 2023

The Industrial Truck Association observes the tenth annual National Forklift Safety Day.

DWC offers the following forklift safety resources:


Low-Cost OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Class

Low-Cost OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Class

This class covers OSHA general industry standards and requirements and safety awareness to help employees find and reduce job site hazards.

  • In-person training and online video training.
  • You must be a Texas resident or an employee currently working in Texas to register.
  • The student must understand and communicate in the language of the course.
  • Participants receive an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry card within eight weeks after course completion.

Austin (Barbara Jordan Building) | June 12-13 | English | Two-day

San Antonio (AGC) | June 20-21 | English | Two-day

El Paso (field office) | June 22-23 | English | Two-day

Registration costs $30 and is required due to limited space.

Free On-Site or Online Safety Consultations

No matter your needs or challenges, the Texas OSHA Consultation Program (OSHCON) has safety and health resources to help your business.

OSHCON consultations are free and confidential. They are offered in person at your job site or virtually.

We can help you find, reduce, and remove safety and health hazards, and learn OSHA standards.

OSHCON also provides:

  • training;
  • help with safety and health programs; and
  • free safety training materials and publications.
