 Preventing Falls in Construction
OSHA’s most frequently cited standard in 2021 – for the eleventh year in a row – is Fall Protection, General Requirements for the Construction Industry (29 CFR 1926.501). Falls are a hazard in many work settings, but construction has the most deadly falls of any industry, making up 51% of all falls nationally. These tips can help construction workers prevent falls at their worksites.
 Stand Up for Grain Safety, April 4-8, 2022
The National Grain and Feed Association and the OSHA are hosting the Stand Up for Grain Safety Week to raise awareness of grain handling dangers.
The following safety tips can help prevent granary injuries and deaths. DWC Workplace Safety also offers links to free online safety videos for grain handling safety, as well as the following free downloadable safety publications:

 Free On-Site or Online Safety Consultations
No matter your needs or challenges, the Texas OSHA Consultation Program (OSHCON) has safety and health resources to help your business.
OSHCON consultations are both free and confidential. They are offered in person at your jobsite or virtually through electronic means.
We can help you find, reduce, and remove safety and health hazards, and understand OSHA standards.
OSHCON also provides:

- free safety training materials and publications.

 Free OSHA 10-Hour Construction Class
Now available at Del Mar College Small Business Development Center in Corpus Christi.
This class covers OSHA standards and requirements for the construction industry and safety awareness to help employees find and reduce job site hazards.
- In-person training and online video training.
- You must be a Texas resident or an employee currently working in Texas to register.
- All students must show a photo ID suitable for travel in the United States.
- The student must understand and communicate in the language of the course.
- Participants receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction class card within eight weeks after course completion.
