Reminders for amusement ride owners / operators

The three items listed below are required to legally operate an amusement ride in Texas. Operating a ride without meeting these requirements could subject you to enforcement action and referral to the Office of the Texas Attorney General.

1. Inspection certificate(s)

• Submit a completed Amusement Ride Certificate of Inspection / Reinspection form (AR-100) (PDF). This will let us know that the amusement ride was inspected and meets the standards for the coverage.
• A qualified inspector and insurance company official must sign each AR-100.
• Include a photo of each amusement ride.
• View list of amusement ride inspectors (PDF).

2. Insurance policy

• Submit your general liability insurance policy with the AR-100 or to the same address listed below under “Filing fee.”
• Include a schedule / list of all amusement rides that the policy insures, noting each ride name and serial number.

3. Filing fee

• Submit a $40 filing fee for each amusement ride with that ride’s inspection certificate.
• You can pay filing fees one of these ways:
  • Credit or debit card online using the Amusement Ride Sticker Payment Service.
  • Check or money order payable to “Texas Department of Insurance” and mailed to:

                  P.O. Box 12030
                  Austin, Texas 78711-2030
