Fire protection licensing and registration updates

Starting February 1, 2022, you will receive your company and individual renewal notifications by email.

  • As required by a rule that went into effect January 1, 2022, licensees must provide an email address we can use for official communications.

  • If you would like to update your email address, send an email with your SFMO license/registration number and new email address to FMLicensing@tdi.texas.gov. The SFMO keeps only one email address on file, so please make sure you are using an email account that is monitored.

  • Renewal notifications will go out 90 days before the expiration date and will be sent to the email address we have on file.

  • If you use a different email address when submitting any form, we will update your account with the email address provided on the form.

  • Companies and the individuals they employ should decide which email address will be used for all correspondence, including renewal notifications. If an individual uses a company email address, that person must send SFMO their new email address if they leave that company.

When submitting an application or renewal, please make sure you are using the latest form.

  • Download the most recent forms from the SFMO form page.

  • Please make sure your application or renewal is filled out completely. Incomplete applications and renewals will be returned.
