Stand Up for Grain Safety Week, March 29-April 2

The National Grain and Feed Association and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are hosting the Stand Up for Grain Safety Week, March 29-April 2, to raise awareness of grain handling dangers. The following safety tips can help prevent granary injuries and deaths.

Low-Cost OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Course Now Online

The eight-day courses are presented by OSHA-authorized instructors who train employers and employees in the basics of construction safety. This includes OSHA standards and requirements, and safety awareness to help find and reduce job-site hazards and risks.

Those who complete the course receive an OSHA 30-Hour Construction course completion card within eight weeks. The next class begins on April 5.

Lone Star Safety Awards

Two Texas companies recently earned Lone Star Safety Awards for their excellent workplace safety programs. Congratulations to Capacity of Texas in Longview and to Lauren Concrete for their worksites in Austin and Manor.

To qualify for a Lone Star Safety Award, employers must have a proven safety program with injury rates below the national average for the previous three years and no work-related deaths within the past 12 months.
