Winter Safety for Outdoor Workers
Long hours of exposure to the cold create added hazards for the thousands of Texas employees who work outdoors in the winter. Even employees with only occasional outdoor cold-weather duties, such as de-icing entryways or sweeping snow from steps, face increased job risks. While no one can control the weather, these tips can help employers and employees reduce work hazards in the winter.
Free Online OSHA 10-Hour Construction Class
The OSHA 10-Hour class offers live instruction and interactive class participation through Zoom. This class covers the basics of construction safety, industry-specific OSHA standards and requirements, and safety awareness to help employees find and reduce job site hazards. Participants receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction card within eight weeks after course completion.

DWC has recognized seven Lauren Concrete plants for their exemplary workplace safety programs by renewing their Lone Star Safety Awards. The ready-mix concrete plants located in Austin, Brenham, Caldwell, Kyle, Prairie View, Smithville, and Spicewood are among 18 of 23 Lauren Concrete facilities in Texas to receive the Lone Star Safety Award.
