It’s taking longer than usual to get an appointment with our vendor for fingerprints. The wait can be two to four weeks depending on the location. You can call IdentoGO at 1-888-467-2080 for information on which sites have the shortest wait times.
Once we receive your background information, we process most licenses within one day.
If you need a license quickly, you can apply for a temporary license without fingerprints or an exam. After you’ve completed your fingerprint appointment, email your fingerprint receipt to license@tdi.texas.gov and we’ll convert your license to a regular license once we review your results and approve your background check.
