TDI issues guidance to alternative health plans

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) has issued a bulletin to encourage issuers of short term health plans and other alternative health plans to waive consumer costs for COVID-19 testing and take other actions to ensure timely access to care. TDI also is requesting that those plans develop information for consumers on their COVID-19 testing and treatment coverage and report their actions to TDI.
