HHSC to Host Deafblind Awareness Week Celebration on June 24
The Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Blind Children’s Program will celebrate Deafblind Awareness Week by hosting an art show, presentation, parent panel and exhibitor opportunities on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
With the theme, “Access in Action,” the event will feature:
- Tactile artwork created by children who are deafblind and enrolled in Blind Children’s Program services.
- Remarks from Blind Children’s Program participants who are deafblind.
- A parent panel discussion with parents of children who are deafblind.
- Networking and exhibitor booths.

A space for agencies and programs to set up a booth will be available. If you or your agency serves the deafblind community and are interested in exhibiting, contact kristen.boessling@hhs.texas.gov by June 5 to reserve a table.
