Dear COVID-19 Vaccine Providers,
All current inventory of Johnson & Johnson (J&J)/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine in the United States will expire on May 6, 2023. There will not be a shelf-life extension for these vaccine products.
Texas Department of State Health Services is requesting providers to dispose any remaining doses of this vaccine in accordance with COVID-19 Vaccine Disposal Guidelines and local regulations and processes for medical waste.
The expired doses must be recorded as waste in the Vaccine Allocation and Order System (VAOS). Instructions for reporting waste in VAOS can be found here:Reporting Waste in VAOS
