Temporary COVID-19 Rate Add-Ons for Nursing Facilities (NFs) and the Home and Community-based Services (HCS) Waiver Program Will Conclude May 11, 2023

The temporary COVID-19 rate increases were effective April 1, 2020, and will conclude at the end of the federally-declared public health emergency (PHE), in accordance with Title 1 of the Texas Administrative Code Section 355.205 - Emergency Rule for Emergency Temporary Reimbursement Rate Increases and Limitations on Use of Emergency Temporary Funds for Medicaid in Response to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

On Apr. 6, 2023, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) published Information Letter (IL) 2023-13 for HCS providers and Information Letter (IL) 2023-14 for NF/Hospice providers related to the ending of temporary emergency rate increases.  Information regarding the ending of the temporary rate add-ons, including claims submissions, is provided in the ILs.
