The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predict that brain injury will be the biggest public health problem in the U.S. by 2020. Currently, traumatic brain injury (TBI) is the leading cause of death and disability in children and adults ages 1 to 44.  To address this growing issue, the Office of Acquired Brain Injury partnered with the Piney Woods Regional Advisory Council (RAC-G), the University of Texas Health Science Center of Tyler and other Northeast Texas organizations to form the Northeast Texas Brain Injury Coalition (NETBIC).

We invite you to attend the first Northeast Texas Brain Injury Summit on April 13th, 2016. Participants will gain knowledge on many facets of brain injury, and will participate in the development of action plans for the prevention of brain injury, intervention and identification efforts, and the improvement of long-term services and supports in the community.
