Barbara Jordan Media Awards Winners Announced
AUSTIN – The Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities has announced the winners of the 30th Annual Barbara Jordan Media Awards for pieces produced in 2012. Winners in each of the categories were chosen by a panel of judges, including journalists, professionals in the field of disabilities, and people with disabilities.
The winners will be honored at the Barbara Jordan Media Awards Ceremony dinner on Saturday, April 13, at 7:00 p.m. at College Park Center on the campus of The University of Texas at Arlington. The event is hosted by The University of Texas at Arlington Department of Communication, and is open to the public by reservation. Anita Foster, Regional Chief Communications Officer of American Red Cross North Texas Region is the keynote speaker, and Stephen Booher, Organizational Development Specialist for the City of Arlington is the emcee. Joe Bontke, Chair of the Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities, will present the awards.
