Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services to Host Listening Session August 4 in El Paso

The Health and Human Services Commission Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS) will host a virtual listening session in El Paso on Aug. 4 to gather public input on all DHHS offerings and initiatives. 

Members of the public are invited to share feedback on these DHHS Programs:

  • Board for Evaluation of Interpreters Certification
  • Camp Sign
  • Certificate of Deafness for Tuition Waiver
  • Communication Services for State Agencies
  • Driver Identification Visor Card
  • Last Resort Communication Services
  • Resource Specialist Program
  • Senior Citizens Program
  • Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program
  • Training and Education

DHHS is especially interested in feedback from those belonging to one or more of the following groups:

  • Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH)
  • American Sign Language interpreters and providers
  • Program contractors and vendors for individuals who are DHH
  • Members of the public who are associated with or support the DHH community

What: HHSC DHHS Listening Session

When: Aug. 4, 2026, 3–7 p.m.

Where: Paso Del Norte Children’s Development Center            
             1101 E. Schuster Ave.            
             El Paso, Texas 79902

Who: Open to the public
