Time is running out to enter the Texas Governor's Committee on People with Disabilities' 2026 National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) Poster Art Competition.
All entries must be received by email or postmarked by June 30, 2026.
Each October, GCPD features the work of a Texas artist with a disability on its official NDEAM poster. More than 2,000 posters are distributed statewide to employers, businesses, schools, organizations, and community partners to promote disability employment awareness and celebrate the value, talent, and contributions of Texans with disabilities in the workforce.
Who Can Participate
Texas artists with disabilities are encouraged to submit original artwork for consideration.
What to Submit
Each entry must include:
- A high-resolution digital image of the original artwork
- A completed and signed entry form
- A brief artist statement
- A short explanation of how the artwork connects to employment
All visual art media are welcome. The original artwork does not need to be submitted with the entry.
Please note: The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in submitted artwork is not permitted.
How to Submit Artwork
Entries may be submitted by email to GCPD@gov.texas.gov.
Color photocopies or image files may also be submitted by mail if needed. All entries must be received by email or postmarked by June 30, 2026. There is no fee to enter.
Why Participate?
The winning artwork will be featured as the official 2026 Texas NDEAM poster and may also be highlighted through the Texas HireAbility Campaign.
The winning artist and artwork may also be recognized through:
- Display in the Office of the Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities
- Possible inclusion in offsite exhibits and public events
- Recognition at the Lex Frieden Employment Awards
