Dear Texas Economic Development Partners,
Happy Economic Development Week in Texas! This May 12-16 we are honored to celebrate YOU—the dedicated economic development professionals across the state whose efforts help increase prosperity for all Texans!
We are excited to share Governor Greg Abbott's official proclamation and special video celebrating this important week.
This week also highlights the critical role economic development plays in our state's future and the team effort behind Texas' record-breaking success. It takes a collaborative and strategic effort of local, regional and statewide teams, focused on attracting new businesses and new investments, as well as promoting and retaining businesses already growing here.
Thanks to our state’s strong partnerships, Texas has remained the Best State for Business for 21 years and counting. We have also won a record-smashing 13 Governor's Cups in a row for attracting the most corporate relocations and expansions in the country, received the 2025 Prosperity Cup as the top-performing state in the U.S. for attracting new business investments and we were named the Best Business Climate in America—giving us the “Triple Crown” for award designations from Site Selection magazine.
This year, the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office launched our "Bigger. Better. Texas." Economic Development Strategic Plan—a five-year blueprint for the future of our economy. It will take all of us working together in this effort and capturing the promise of our future economy as we build a bigger, better Texas for decades to come!
