We've got some huge news, y'all: in just two days, here at the Texas Capitol, we'll officially certify our 200th Film Friendly Texas community!
Established in 2007, the Film Friendly Texas program has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 18 years, establishing a framework of support in every single corner of the Lone Star State. The Texas Film Commission (TFC) partners with communities through programs like Film Friendly Texas to attract new investments in media production and drive local job growth.

This past month we launched the inaugural Lone Star Film Faceoff on our Instagram and our followers definitely made their voices heard.
Competition was tough each and every day, but eventually 64 contenders were whittled down to two finalists in a head-to-head matchup between a pair of the most highly regarded films in the Texas canon: No Country for Old Men and Dazed and Confused.
Richard Linklater's much beloved hangout flick ended up taking the crown by a hair, making Dazed and Confused our first-ever Lone Star Film Faceoff Champion, but don't worry if you set your hopes on a different contender — there's always next year!
Make sure to follow us on Instagram to keep up with future installments of the Lone Star Film Faceoff and head to our TFC Letterboxd page for a breakdown of the whole bracket.
As committee hearings proceed, we continue to receive information requests from the Texas Legislature. We remain at the ready to respond as hearings are scheduled and meetings are set. Things are busy gearing up for the home stretch.
