Most people know the Texas Film Commission (TFC) supports TV, film, and commercial production in Texas, but did you know that we also serve the animation, VFX, video game, and XR industries in just as many ways? We've spent the last few years gathering feedback, meeting with stakeholders, retooling existing resources—and creating brand new ones—to make our office the first stop for Digital Media projects, companies, and crew. We have even more planned for the coming months, so stay tuned!
The Texas Production Directory (TPD) is the best way our office can accurately recommend Texas-based animators, VFX artists, and video game designers/programmers. The TPD allows you to list as an individual or as a company, and there are categories for Virtual Production Studios, XR Companies, Environment Artists, Video Game Producers, and so much more! Check out the rules & requirements to create a listing so our office can start recommending you or your company's services to showcase the amazing Digital Media talent we have all across Texas!
Congratulations to Cedar Park—the first-ever Digital Media Friendly Texas certified community! Through the DMFTX program, cities and towns take an important step in attracting business opportunities, cultivating their Digital Media community, and helping close the digital divide across Texas. Many communities have already started the process to join a network of forward-thinking cities and towns across the state. The Texas Film Commission's official Steam curator page continues to pick up steam! With roughly 250 games either developed or published by Texas-based companies, our page showcases the indies, the AA, and the AAA games that Texans helped create. Like blockbuster action based on films? Maybe you're into AA multiplayer survival horror? Stressed enough by this world and just want to unwind and relax by building your own? We've got it all and are thrilled to showcase Texans' hard work! Be sure to give us a follow because we're adding more games every week! |

Preparing our high school and college grads for the careers of tomorrow is of utmost importance here in Texas. That's why it's no surprise that the 88th Texas Legislature allocated $25 million to fund Texas A&M's Virtual Production Institute—the first of its kind in the nation! Not only will this prepare A&M students for high-paying creative industry jobs, it will also offer advanced XR use case scenarios for the manufacturing, health care, military/aerospace, and architecture industries. The Texas Film Commission has many financial resources for Digital Media projects eyeing Texas. The Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program (TMIIIP) not only received a record-breaking $200 million appropriation last biennium, but recent changes made to the program also make it easier for animation, VFX, video game, and XR projects to participate. Whether you've never applied or haven't applied in a few years, we encourage you to reach out to our office to get the process started. For more information about TMIIIP and other financial incentives our office administers, click the link below.
