Dear Texas Economic Development Partners,

Happy Economic Development Week in Texas! This week celebrates economic development efforts across the state and increases awareness of local programs and economic development professionals who are helping to build a bigger, better Texas!

Our state's dedicated economic developers work to bring new investment and create new jobs, advance economic opportunities and improve quality of life in communities across Texas. We are proud to recognize our local and regional chambers, economic development organizations and our state agency partners for the role they play in supporting our local and state economies.

The more than 1,000 economic development organizations and chambers of commerce across the state not only work to bring new jobs and capital investments to our communities, but they also assist with domestic and international business recruitment, expansion and retention, workforce development, export opportunities and small business growth.

In Texas, economic development is a team sport. Thanks to our state’s partnerships in economic development at the local, regional and statewide level, Texas was once-again named the Best State for Business in the country—now for the 20th consecutive year!

Not to mention, Texas won the Governor’s Cup for a record-shattering 12th year in a row for attracting the most corporate relocation and expansion projects in 2023—this would not be possible without the dedicated efforts of our economic development partners across the state!

We are excited to share Governor Greg Abbott's official proclamation and special message highlighting Economic Development Week in Texas.
