Announcing Our Newest Texas Film Trail: The Two-Step Across Texas Film Trail

TFT Graphic

It should come as no surprise that music — on-screen and off — is a fundamental component of Texas culture. What more could you expect from a state that claims the "Live Music Capital of the World" as it's state capital?

With that in mind, we've compiled a list of locations found in Texas films, television series, and music videos from the past 54 years. From outlaw country to underground hip hop, new wave punk to R&B, Tejano jams to heartbreaking blues licks — we've got it all.

So, follow along as we guide you through the steps of our very own Texas Two-Step. It may feel a little different from the dance you know, but we promise once you get into the rhythm, you'll love every second of it!

Take a Peek at the Past with TAMI and the TFC

TAMI

On Thursday, April 27, from 12-3PM, follow a trail of QR codes along the Capitol's Great Walk to explore more than 100 years of Texas moving images.

Hosted by the Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI) and the Texas Film Commission, this interactive exhibit includes archival films and videos documenting the seven regions of Texas that were preserved via the award-winning Texas Film Round-Up. A partnership between TAMI and the TFC, the Round-Up has resulted in the preservation of more than 40,000 moving images in Texas contributed by thousands of individuals and organizations across the state.

During the event, learn more about the Round-Up, TAMI, and the TFC while viewing moving images from across Texas, including the earliest film footage of the Capitol from 1911!
