On Tuesday, September 13, 2022, Chip Adams, Community Relations & Outreach Specialist of the Texas Music Office, presented a Certificate of Recognition from Governor Greg Abbott to HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians), the Austin, TX non-profit, to officially recognize the day as HAAM Day.

On September 14th, 2022, Texas Music Office Director, Brendon Anthony participated in the “Artist Rights Alliance Presents: Building Supportive Communities for Music Creators” panel for the 23rd annual Americanafest in Nashville, TN.

The panel was an in-depth discussion that focused on “What are ways that local governments, convention and visitors’ organizations and non-profits can ensure that music creators thrive in their communities?”

Texas Music Office and Kessler Presents Team Up for the 5th Lone Star Shindig for the 23rd Americanafest


The TMO teamed up again with the fantastic Kessler Presents, the largest independent promoter in Texas, specializing in presenting curated artists to respectful audiences in unique environments. Together, we presented our 5th annual Lone Star Shindig at the 23rd annual Americanafest on the Rooftop Lounge at the Bobby Hotel in downtown Nashville, TN. This year’s event featured special performances by some of our favorite Texas artists that embody the Americana music spirit, ranging from some newcomers to the well-known name of Ray Benson.

As part of the 23rd Annual Americanafest, two of the Texas Music Office’s Music Friendly Communities hosted hundreds of people in Nashville, TN who came to visit their cities’ talent perform with amazing lineups of artists, information booths, branded swag and so much more.

Music Friendly Community Notes From the Road: September 2022

Every month, we will be sharing a recap of TMO's Community Relations and Outreach Specialist Chip Adams’ travels throughout the state. Chip manages our Music Friendly Community Program, which includes over 30 cities throughout Texas, and growing every day.

This month, Chip made a trip to Galveston and the Texas Coastal region and had the opportunity to meet up with several existing and potential Music Friendly Communities in the region.
