Deaf Representatives Providing COVID-19 Information in ASL
Office of the Governor Texas sent this bulletin at 06/06/2022 10:33 AM CDT
Due to communication barriers, often people who are deaf are the last to know about pertinent information. Communication Services for the Deaf (CSD) is partnering with a number of entities to change that. CSD now offers Deaf representatives who are trained and ready to provide COVID-19 information in ASL statewide. Call the ASL Now COVID-19 Hotline, or call 737-304-6562 on your video phone to receive information in sign language. This hotline does not give medical advice. If you are sick you are encouraged to visit your physician or call 911 in a medical emergency.
