JOIN OUR TEAM: The TMO is Hiring a Marketing Specialist


The Texas Music Office seeks to hire a Marketing Specialist. The TMO Marketing Specialist is assigned to the Office of the Governor’s Texas Music Office (TMO) within the Economic Development and Tourism Office (EDT), and reports to the Director of the Texas Music Office. Job duties include: performing complex (journey-level) marketing work, coordinating and conducting general office operations, TMO social media management, coordination of media requests with the OOG Press Office, and special projects, as assigned.

Texas Music Office Announces Salado Designated As Music Friendly Community


The Village of Salado, having completed the multi-step certification process, has been designated as a Music Friendly Community by the Texas Music Office (TMO). The Music Friendly Community program seeks to foster music business-related economic development in Texas cities and communities. The community celebration featuring live music and hosted by the Village of Salado and the TMO is scheduled for Tuesday, June 14, 2022, beginning at 5:30 pm at the outdoor pavilion of the Shady Villa Hotel, 416 S. Main Street, Salado. TMO Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams will present the Music Friendly Community designation to Mayor Michael Coggin.

TMO-Certified Music Friendly Community of San Antonio Co-Sponsors SUMMER NIGHT CITY Music Series


The City of San Antonio's Department of Arts & Culture and Texas Public Radio will co-sponsor the "Summer Night City" concert series that began last Thursday, June 2 and continues every Thursday night in June and July. This week's concert features music from Favorite Son and Brandon Padier & Black Gold, live at Legacy Park in San Antonio.

Kids In a New Groove Seeks Volunteer Musician Mentors

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Kids In a New Groove (KING), a program of Partnerships For Children, provides music lessons to kids in the Texas Child Welfare System. Help bring music mentorship to a child life by being a musician mentor. Kids In a New Groove currently serves youths in Bastrop, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties.

Joe Jonas Lassos Litter As The New Face of DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS

 

It’s said that everything is bigger in Texas and in the hilarious new PSAs for Don’t mess with Texas, singer, songwriter and actor Joe Jonas finds lassoing litter may be his biggest challenge yet. The PSAs feature the former Westlake, TX resident taking an over-the-top approach to keeping Texas roadways free of litter, and inspiring a whole office of people to join him in the effort. As the new face of Don’t mess with Texas, Jonas joins the likes of other Texas artists who have lent their support to the campaign including George Strait, Willie Nelson, Black Pumas, Erykah Badu, the Randy Rogers Band, Las Fenix, and Grupo Fantasma.
