January 2022

Happy New Year!

To say that 2021 was a big year for the Texas Film Commission would be underselling it.

Not only did we celebrate our 50th Anniversary all year long with trivia, deep-dives into TFC history, behind-the-scenes photos from our archives and videos from friends and former staffers, we crossed the threshold of 160 Film Friendly Certified Communities, hosted the first half of our Film Friendly Texas Forum, and so much more. We can't wait for y'all to see what we've got planned for 2022!

The Women in Tech and Innovation Forum is Back

Following up on the success of our inaugural 2020 event, we've once again partnered with AT&T and the Governor's Commission for Women to present the 2022 Women in Tech and Innovation Forum. This year we'll be exploring topics related to media and technology over the course of two days of virtual programming, with agenda tracks covering Tech + Innovation and Tech + Community Development, plus keynote presentations featuring some truly innovative voices. It's free to attend and open to all!

Introducing Robert Rodriguez (But not *that* Robert Rodriguez)

We rang in the new year in style a few weeks ago by welcoming a new team member to the Texas Film Commission: Marketing Specialist, Robert Rodriguez.

Robert will round out the TFC Marketing Department and before you ask, no - as far as we can tell, he doesn't appear to be a troublemaker. You've already seen some of his handiwork in this very newsletter and you're bound to see more soon, so long as you keep an eye on the TFC website and social media throughout the year!
