Governor Abbott Announces Bryan's Music Friendly Community Workshop


Governor Greg Abbott today announced the Texas Music Office (TMO) and AdventGX will co-host a Music Friendly Community workshop in Bryan on Monday, October 18 at 6 pm at the Grand Stafford Theatre. TMO Director Brendon Anthony will be present to explain the Music Friendly Community designation and answer questions.

Eleven Musicians Receive City of San Antonio's Individual Artist Grants for 2022

Our Music Friendly Community liaisons at the City of San Antonio's Department of Arts & Culture recently announced that eleven San Antonio musicians were chosen to receive the city's Individual Artist Grants for 2022. Each recipient will receive a $5,000 grant to help fund their personal projects over the course of the next 18 months. The musician projects range from recording new albums, music education for youth, preservation of culturally relevant/indigenous music, and exploration of the healing properties of music. The list of recipients includes: Pamela Martinez / Teletextile, Ceiba ili, Chayito Champion, Nina Diaz, Ray Colao, Carlos Sanchez De La Garza, David Ortiz, ILA MINORI, Aminah Decé, Nathan Felix, and Bianca Sapet

Getting The Gig Workshop: Friday, Oct 15th in Lubbock


Tomorrow, on Friday, October 15th at 1 pm CT, our Music Friendly Community liaisons at the Lubbock Cultural Arts Foundation present a panel discussion featuring popular Lubbock venues including Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, Buddy Holly Center, Cactus Theater, The Buddy Holly Hall and LHUCA - moderated by Scott Faris of Amusement Park Recording Studios - followed by a presentation by Henry Glascock of William Morris Endeavor (WME). Networking opportunities, live music with Jeremy Couture and SPiVEY and refreshments will be available between the sessions.

The Texas Music Office (TMO) and the City of Hutto will co-host a Music Friendly Community workshop in Hutto on Wednesday, October 20 at 6 pm at the Downtown Hall of Fame. TMO Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams will be present to explain the Music Friendly Community designation and answer questions.

Covid-19 Resources for music industry professionals


Assistance Information and Resources For Music Industry Professionals Affected by COVID-19


We've updated our master list of Grants, Loans, & Resources List to include the most recent info on the Texas Rent Relief Program, the first in the nation to provide $1 Billion in assistance. Texans can apply for the program by calling 1-833-9TX-RENT (1-833-989-7368) or submitting it online at TexasRentRelief.com. The call center is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. To qualify, households must be at or below 80% of the area median income as well as meet other criteria. Landlords are encouraged to apply on behalf of tenants, who must co-sign the application.
