3rd Annual TEXAS SOUNDS & CITIES Conference Brings Music Friendly Communities Together To Plot Music Industry Success 


TMO Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams recaps the 3rd annual TEXAS SOUNDS & CITIES Conference which took place September 9-10. "A huge thank you to our partners at the Levitt Pavilion Arlington, and the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau. Letatia Teykl, Executive Director of the Levitt Pavilion Arlington, along with Dena Rambo from Lamont Associates, made this such a great event, making us all feel at home and immersed in all things Arlington," writes Adams. "A huge thanks to the incredible staff at Globe Life Park, Texas Live!, and the Levitt Pavilion for all of their hard work."

Governor Abbott Announces Port Aransas To Be Certified As A Music Friendly Community On September 17

On Wednesday, September 17, Governor Greg Abbott announced that Port Aransas, having completed the multi-step certification process, has been designated as a Music Friendly Community by the Texas Music Office (TMO). The City of Port Aransas, Visit Port Aransas, and the Texas Music Office invite the community to celebrate the designation on Friday, September 17 in Port Aransas at the Palmilla Golf Resort at 7 pm. TMO Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams will present the Music Friendly Community designation at the kick off of the Port A Live Music Fest.

The Texas Music Office + Kessler Presents host the LONE STAR SHINDIG as a part of Americana Fest in Nashville. The all Texas music line-up takes place at the Bobby Hotel's Rooftop Lounge on Thursday, September 23rd and features Hayes Carll, Vinyl Ranch, Sue Foley, David Ramirez, Joshua Ray Walker, The 40 Acre Mule, Rob Baird, Waylon Payne, and Grace Pettis.

Central Texans: Electric Lady Bird wants your music!


Austin and Central Texas Musicians! Austin Public Library is soliciting your new music to Electric Lady Bird, the Library’s local music collection, from September 1 - 30. Upload 1-3 full-length tracks to the submission form starting Sep. 1. The tracks should be from a full album or EP released between 2019 – 2021. If selected, you’ll upload the rest of the album / EP, and those selected will be paid a $200 honorarium for their music being available to be streamed for 3 years via their website.

Assistance Information and Resources For Music Industry Professionals Affected by COVID-19


We've updated our master list of Grants, Loans, & Resources List to include the Extension of SNAP Benefits for September 2021. On September 3rd, Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is providing approximately $286 million in emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits for the month of September as the state continues its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
