
TMO + Levitt Pavilion Arlington + Arlington CVB Present Texas Sounds & Cities Conference on September 9-10
Join Levitt Pavilion Arlington, Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Texas Music Office for the 3rd annual Texas Sounds and Cities Conference. The two-day conference will include panel discussions on Texas music scene development, conversations about potential state-wide collaboration between the certified communities, as well as conversations spotlighting economic development best practices which in turn lead to increased music tourism and music scene cohesion. This yearly conference is a time for our Music Friendly Communities to come together and learn from each other. Music Friendly Community Liaisons are invited to present updates from their respective programs. There will be time for round table discussions to learn from the successes and challenges of their fellow certified communities.
Odessa To Be Certified As A Music Friendly Community at Ector Theatre on Saturday, August 21
On Saturday, August 21st, the Texas Music Office + Odessa Arts will come together at Odessa's Ector Theatre to hold a special Music Friendly Community certification ceremony before the Aaron Watson show that evening. Texas Music Office’s Outreach & Community Relations Specialist Chip Adams will be present to certify Odessa as newest Music Friendly Community!

Vidor To Be Certified As A Music Friendly Community on August 24
The Texas Music Office + the City of Vidor will join together to certify Vidor as a Music Friendly Community on Tuesday, August 24th at 3 pm at Vidor City Hall. TMO Outreach & Community Relations Specialist Chip Adams will be present to present the certification to Vidor's Mayor and music community. The city completed the multi-step process to become certified, beginning with a workshop held in June.

Central Texans: Electric Lady Bird wants your music!
Austin and Central Texas Musicians! Austin Public Library is soliciting your new music to Electric Lady Bird, the Library’s local music collection, from September 1 - 30. Upload 1-3 full-length tracks to the submission form starting Sep. 1. The tracks should be from a full album or EP released between 2019 – 2021. If selected, you’ll upload the rest of the album / EP, and those selected will be paid a $200 honorarium for their music being available to be streamed for 3 years via their website.

Grand Prairie To Be Certified As A Music Friendly Community
On Saturday, September 11, 2021, the Texas Music Office will certify Grand Prairie as a Texas Music Friendly Community. The certification ceremony takes place at 6:00 p.m. at Firehouse Gastro Park located at 321 Main Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen along with City Council, city officials, the Music Friendly Advisory Committee and Visit Grand Prairie will receive the certification from Texas Music Office Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams. The community is encouraged to attend.
