We've also added NEA direct grant opportunities for arts organizations and local arts agencies to apply for American Rescue Plan funding (deadline July 22), and the Sun Radio Recharge program which pledges $20,000 in grants towards Central Texas Musician utility bills (deadline July 16),
Governor Abbott Announces Music Friendly Community Workshop In Odessa
On Tuesday, Governor Greg Abbott announced the Texas Music Office (TMO) and Odessa Arts will co-host a Music Friendly Community workshop on Thursday, July 8. Brendon Anthony, Director of the Texas Music Office, will be present to explain the Music Friendly Community designation and answer questions.

TMO's Texas Music Summer Reading Book List
Texas Music Office Programs Specialist Steve Ray has compiled a summer reading book list of various Texas Music books that are certain to be perfect whether relaxing on the beach or under a shady oak tree. From Texas music history, to an award-winning memoir of a present day Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame inductee written by the Go-Go's Kathy Valentine pictured above, there's something for everyone.
Music Friendly Community Workshop Comes To Port Aransas
On Tuesday, July 13th at 5 pm CT, the Texas Music Office (TMO) and Visit Port Aransas will co-host a Music Friendly Community workshop at Port Aransas City Hall Council Chambers. Chip Adams, Community Relations & Outreach Specialist for the Texas Music Office, will be present to explain the Music Friendly Community designation and answer questions.
