TAD Launches Statewide Survey for Deaf Seniors

The Texas Association of the Deaf has developed a survey to help the area agencies on aging (AAA) throughout Texas identify deaf seniors. The AAAs are tasked with helping people age 60+, their families, and caregivers access services in their communities. There are 28 AAAs across Texas, and many are unsure of how many deaf seniors are in their service area.

TAD and the AAAs came together to develop this survey in order to get a clearer picture of how best to serve the aging deaf community in Texas. This confidential survey will help identify service needs in areas throughout the state, including ASL interpreters, captioning of video resources, and other accommodations. Respondents are encouraged to share the survey with other deaf Texans. The last date to complete the survey is Saturday, May 15th.
