The Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD) wants to learn more about what it’s like for people with developmental disabilities (DD) to access services and supports in Texas. They're conducting a survey as part of their TCDD Listens campaign to help identify what needs are being met and what needs improvement. Survey responses are anonymous and will help inform the development of their FY2022-26 State Plan.

TCDD wants to hear stories from self-advocates (someone with an intellectual or developmental disability) and their family members. A family member can be a parent, sibling, grandparent – someone close to you who helps you access services. Self-advocates are also welcome to ask family members or friends for help in completing the survey.
TCDD wants to hear how access to services and supports impacts your daily activities, like going to school or seeing friends. Have you or your family member ever missed work, school, or going out with friends because you couldn't get a ride? Have you had problems trying to see a doctor, maybe for the same reasons or because there are not doctors in your area? Stories like these help TCDD get a better picture of what areas need improvement.
The survey is online and available in two versions. One is designed for self-advocates, while the other is for family members. The survey is anonymous and individual responses will not be shared publicly! The Self-Advocate and Family Member surveys are both available in Spanish. The deadline to complete the survey is Sunday, November 1st. If you need help completing it or need it in an alternate format, contact Evan Marczysnki at evan.marczynski@tcdd.texas.gov or 512-437-5442.
