Job accommodations can be vital for the successful employment of individuals with mental health conditions. Join us May 5, 2020 from 2:00 - 3:15 PM as Melanie Whetzel from the Job Accommodation Network covers how, when, and why it might be necessary to disclose a disability, and why it is the first and often most difficult part of the accommodation process. This session is for both employers and employees and will provide information on the disclosure of mental health conditions in the workplace, the limitations associated with these conditions, and the accommodations that might be needed. Texas Workforce Commission's Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services will cover how VR can support both employers and employees in the workplace. Real-life accommodation situations and solutions will be interspersed throughout the session. A question and answer session will be included at the end.
Presenter: Melanie Whetzel, M.A., CBIS Job Accommodation Network, Lead Consultant, Cognitive / Neurological Team
Melinda Paninski, M.S., CRC Texas Workforce Commission
Shelly Caillouet Texas Workforce Commission, Vocational Rehabilitation Division Policy and Program Development
