Texas Music Artists Help Make Movement Supporting Teachers Go Viral
"From hurricane relief efforts, to supporting fellow artists in times of need, the Texas/Red Dirt Music community is known for taking care of those who need it most. If you’ve been on Twitter recently, you might have seen the hashtag #clearthelists, which originated from the Support a Teacher movement," writes Jodi Cockrell for Texas Music Pickers. "The movement encourages people to donate supplies to a teacher for the upcoming school year. Leave it to this scene’s biggest names (like Josh Abbott Band and Casey Donahew) to take this campaign to the next level by challenging fellow artists and inspiring fans to get involved." Within 24 hours, more than 100 Texas teachers posted lists on our Facebook page. And now even the Kardashians are contributing to this viral movement that began in Texas.
