The largest record convention in North America (& the second largest in the world) returns to the Palmer Events Center in just a few weeks. We spoke with Austin Record Convention founder Doug Hanners - and Austin Record Convention co-owner Nathan Hanners - about the history of the event that has grown to attract buyers and sellers from around the world, and about how the future of the Convention remains a family affair.

Music Friendly Communities Gather at Texas Sounds & Cities Conference
TMO-certified Music Friendly Communities gathered in Fort Worth last month for the debut Texas Sounds & Cities Conference, co-hosted by the Texas Music Office + Visit Fort Worth. Leading into Fortress Fest, the conference highlighted music scene development efforts by the TMO and various communities from around the state.

Music Tech Start-up Beatstars Facilitates #1 Song
Founded in 2008, the Austin-based music tech startup Beatstars facilitated the creation of the current Billboard No. 1 song in the USA, Lil Nas X's viral hit ’Old Town Road.’ “This is a testament to why I built the company,” says Beatstars CEO Abe Batshon.
